VIC Group held the annual veterinary conference "VETKORM 2017"

The 16th scientific and practical conference "VETKORM 2017" on "Topical issues of prevention, treatment, rearing, housing and feeding in industrial poultry and livestock production" was held in Sardinia, Italy from 18 to 25 June, 2017. Traditionally, VIC Group brings together their partners and customers on a single site, providing effective professional communication and discussion of the most topical issues of the agro-industrial complex.

Every year, the conference brings together officials of the industry, agricultural enterprises, heads and specialists in cattle, pig and poultry farming, leading manufacturers of veterinary drugs, feed additives, disinfectants and equipment from Russia, the Netherlands, Germany, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the USA.

In welcoming the participants A.S. Kaspariants (General Director of VIC Group) noted that with the current pace of information technology development such meetings are very important. The joint discussions help in planning main principles of the industry development aimed at raising the productivity of agricultural enterprises, implementation of import substitution strategy and the promotion of Russian products to foreign markets.


The report made by S.A. Kasparyants (Commercial Director of VIC Group) on "Veterinary is investment in the future" raised great interest and active discussion among visitors, since this report referred to the issue of antibiotic use in livestock and poultry rearing, obtaining of safe products. The participants asked many questions, and could receive answers during a joint discussion.

The Conference focused on issues concerning modern technologies for livestock and poultry rearing: from enhancing the effectiveness of mixed feed to information processes at the enterprise and business management system.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of cost optimization and improvement of economic indicators at enterprises.

All participants noted that this year the topics at the VETKORM Conference corresponded to the need and were aimed at practical solution to problems. The data provided in the reports were discussed at the "Round table", the moderator of which was S.V. Lakhtyukhov (Executive Director of the Russian Veterinary Association).


At the Conference there was developed a resolution, which included key findings on three directions:

1. issues concerning concessional lending for the development of poultry farms;

2. issues concerning compartmentalization, i.e. determination of zoosanitary status of farms to minimize the risk of disease epidemics at large pig farms;

3. issues concerning privileges for importing of breeding material (poultry) in Russia.


Directors of the industrial enterprises were unanimous in their view that now they face an important task to implement all the decisions adopted with the support of work community.

Guests at the Conference actively participated both in business and free program during which there were held sportive events, excursions, recreational activities. The guests could also get to know about the country traditions, culture and ethnic cuisine.
